How To Draw A Cute Armadillo
Today we will tell you how to draw an Armadillo. This is going to be a pretty easy tutorial with nine steps. Try to follow the sequence of these steps and you will get excellent results. We practice drawing animals in so many ways because we know it is one of your favorite topics. Today we have chosen a rather exotic animal. We hope you enjoy it!
How to Draw an Armadillo
Step 1 – Draw the Outlines of the Head and Torso
Armadillos are the only animals to have a hard back covering. Yes, you can also add turtles here to this category. Draw a curved oval base for the shell. As you can see, our animal has a small head.
Step 2 – Sketch the Front of the Face
Anteaters and armadillos are similar in appearance largely due to the similarity of an elongated muzzle. This feature helps them feed on ants and dig the ground. Draw this elongated muzzle in the form of a cone extending from the head.
Step 3 – Sketch the Eyes of the Armadillo
Let's draw the ears on the head. You can place the ears of the armadillo a little higher, right on the foundation that we have prepared for the future shell. The outer ear is practically invisible. Instead of this ear, we only see a thin line
Step 4 – Draw stripes on the carapace
It is necessary to cover part of the head with a shell. This is necessary to protect the battleship from all kinds of trouble. Draw a line from the ear and draw a border with it. Let's make "ribs" on the carapace, which is a bone formed from keratinized skin.
Step 5 – Draw the Tail of the Platypus
Did you notice the resemblance to the mouse? The elongated muzzle and ears should look like the facial features of a rat or mouse that lives in the basements of houses. Draw out the tail and twist it a little. Let's make it flexible and thinner at the very end. The tail also looks like a mouses' tail.
Step 6 – Draw Lines on the Tail
Interestingly, the armadillo has poor eyesight. These guys only see outlines of objects and gray fog. But in return, they have an excellent sense of smell and keen hearing. So let's go back to drawing and draw some ridges on the surface of the tail to create the feeling of a single texture.
Step 7 – Draw the Front Paws of the Armadillo
Armadillos animals run well and develop speeds of almost 50 km per hour, so they need muscular, strong legs. Let's draw short but tenacious legs. Divide the lower parts of the legs into three toes.
Step 8 – Draw the Back Paws of the Armadillo
Repeat the previous point and draw the hind legs. Also, sharpen your toes on the armadillo's paws. Note that there is space between the legs and there is a decent distance between the front and rear legs.
Step 9 – Remove Extra Lines
Erasing any extra lines from your armadillo drawing will give it a more complete look. To make the artwork even more beautiful, you can darken the necessary lines.
Step 10 Coloring an Armadillo
Choose from different shades of gray to create the characteristic mottled color of the armadillo. Notice the hot pink nose and a small glint of light inside the eye contour. These small details will make your drawing more vivid.
So this was a guide on how to draw an Armadillo. We hope this was helpful to you. Do not forget to write to us about the problems you encountered while working with our tutorial. We will also be glad to comment with suggestions on topics for new drawing lessons. It really helps us work!
